Public Service Announcements
The Missouri Alliance to Curb Problem Gambling has a number of television and
radio public service announcements (PSAs) available to help build awareness
of Missouri's problem gambling help line, 1-888-BETSOFF, and the risk factors
and warning signs of problem gambling.
The Alliance also has been fortunate to receive assistance from some celebrities
in helping to build this awareness. Country music legends Crystal Gale and Wynonna
Judd have lent their talent to help with the Alliance's awareness efforts, as well
as the Kansas City rhythm-and-blues band Bloodstone.
For more information about the Alliance's PSAs, please e-mail

Compulsive gambling is a behavior disorder in which an individual has an uncontrollable
preoccupation and urge to gamble. This results in excessive gambling, the outcome of
which is loss of time and money.
The gambling reaches the point at which it compromises, disrupts or destroys the
gambler's personal life, family relationships or vocational pursuits. The key
signs are emotional dependence on gambling, loss of control and interference with
normal functioning. |
