The Missouri Alliance to Curb Problem Gambling has a number of
television and radio public service announcements (PSAs) available
to help build awareness of Missouri's problem gambling help line,
1-888-BETSOFF, and the risk factors and warning signs of problem
gambling.

This video and facilitator's guide are designed to teach
middle- and junior high-school students the risk
factors of all addictions, including gambling.

Past Lectures / Speakers
A number of problem gambling experts have been guest speakers in Missouri.
Beginning in August 1999, the Missouri Alliance to Curb Problem Gambling
has hosted at least one educational seminar each year, which featured a
renowned expert in the field of problem gambling.
In June 2002, Missouri hosted the first lecture in the American Gaming
Association's Responsible Gaming Lecture Series. The guest lecturer was
Robert Ladouceur, professor of psychology at Université Laval in Quebec.

In August 2002, Carol O'Hare, executive director of the Nevada Council on
Problem Gambling, was the guest speaker for Responsible Gaming Education
Week activities. She spoke on the role family and friends have in helping
problem gamblers get the help they need to stop gambling.

Understanding The Odds: A Key To Responsible Gaming
This 30-minute video, "Understanding the Odds: A Key to Responsible
Gaming," is based on a curriculum developed by Harvard Medical
School's Division of Addictions, which focuses on probability in
gambling and everyday life. The video explores the science of uncertainty
education initiatives to enhance young people's understanding of
probability and encourage them to make responsible choices. The video
was produced by the American Gaming Association as part of its
Responsible Gaming Education Week activities.

Behind The 8-Ball; A Guide For Families Of Gamblers

Missouri Alliance To Curb Problem Gambling Annual Report
The Alliance's 2004 annual report is downloadable.
The report contains information about the Alliance,
its members and the variety of programs offered
through the Alliance and its members. It provides
up-to-date data on its help line and treatment
services. It also provides problem gambling
facts and contact information.

Problem gambling information cards that can be used as paycheck inserts are available for free to Missouri residents and businesses. The information cards are 9 inches by 3.5 inches.
The information cards include: the warning signs and risk factors of problem gambling, the help line number, a self-quiz and tips on how to approach a loved one who may have a gambling problem.
